SELF PROGRAMMING INSTRUCTIONS FOR A 2008 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE

Obtain all remote transmitters for this vehicle. 

THIS PROCEDURE IS FOR FOBIK REMOTES YOU MUST HAVE TWO WORKING FOBIK REMOTES TO USE THIS PROCEDURE 

 1. Insert first programmed key into ignition switch.

 2. Switch ignition ON for at least 3 seconds but no longer than 15 seconds.

 3. Turn ignition OFF and remove key. 

 4. Within 15 seconds insert second programmed key into ignition switch and turn ignition ON. 

 5. After 10 seconds an audible tone will be heard and immobilizer warning lamp will flash. 

 6. Turn ignition OFF and remove second programmed key. 

 7. Within 60 seconds insert non-programmed key into ignition switch and turn ignition ON. 

 8. After 10 seconds an audible tone will be heard and immobilizer warning lamp will illuminate for 3 seconds. 

 9. Switch ignition OFF. 

 10. Remove key.
 
 11. Check operation of programmed key transmitter. 

 12. Repeat procedure for additional key transmitters if required (up to 8 key transmitters can be programmed).

The program instructions were very easy to follow. Everything works as it should. The one I have is a constant " Key Fob Battery Low". I bought new CR2032 batteries. From store to fob. Still have the indication. Not sure about this. Thank you.

The 2008 Jeep GC is an enigma.  After an incident concerning the security system caused by a low battery in an original key fob, my new Key Fob Mall extra arrived and initially self-programmed as it should, however, it brought up the low key fob battery indication on the dash, which initially started the security NO START condition prompting the purchase.  The key and the Jeep recovered and now the key does everything that it should albeit the warning still comes up showing low key fob battery.  tried three batteries including one from a non-warning sensor fob and have the same result.  This fob will work, but I still have reserves about the low battery warning.

Saved me money over getting fobs from the dealership.  Took them in for programming and they have been working perfectly.  Did not realize they did not come with batteries - my oversight - but the dealership had batteries and programmed both fobs including new batteries for $75.00.  Checked with locksmiths and they were not any less expensive than the dealershp this time but in the past I have found the dealerships to be excessive in programming pricing.  Good to know you can get replacements through the Key Fob Mall.
