The Ford Taurus is a mid- or full-size car produced since 1985. It was a front-wheel drive mid-size car until 2007, and has been a full-size car since 2008, and available in front- or all-wheel drive since 2008. The third-generation Taurus had a presence in NASCAR, replacing the Thunderbird after the 1997 season. The Taurus became the first sedan to be approved for competition. Remote keyless entry systems are an available option for most Ford Taurus models and are a standard feature on all newer models.
